Alyssa & Nick's Maternity Shoot at the Belknap Mill

It was icy and snowy on the morning of Alyssa and Nick's Maternity Shoot. Alyssa is seven months pregnant with a little girl and baby, oh baby, are they excited to be parents come March! They've had plenty of practice with their several nieces and nephews and you can tell they are going to be naturals. They have such a sweet love for each other that they will soon be able to share with their new little wee one. We did their photo session at the Belknap Mill, which is a really cool old mill building that was once used to make hosiery back in the day.

Shooting portrait sessions inside is normally the opposite of what I typically do. I like to be outside with all the natural light and fresh air. However, the Belknap Mill has so much character and charm I was not at all disappointed when I had to do the session inside. We were primarily up in the Rose Chertok Gallery, which is the perfect indoor space. It's a larger area with lots of light coming in through the windows, and plenty of ideal locale for photo ops. Twinkle lights decorate the room as well to create some cool shots. The mill has an awesome stairwell, which I took advantage and features large windows adorned with beautiful doors. Later in the morning it was actually warm enough to take the session outside for a bit so that was a nice surprise!
